PRIMARY FUNCTION Primary contact for all clientele responsible for screening, managing all client information and files, and for scheduling all client appointments with the attorney, legal interns, interpreters, psychologists, and doctors, as needed. Responsible for the preparation of various USCIS and Immigration Court forms, documents, applications, and packets, and for liaising with the USCIS, Asylum Office, Immigration Court and Vermont Service Center. May perform other duties as assigned.EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Coordinate client intake information and screen potential clients Schedule attorney/client appointments Offer referral assistance by telephone or in person Coordinate with partner agencies for case referrals Manage client files and client database in Tucson Gather and maintain VAWA and U Visa immigration statistics Accept payments from clients for legal services Contact USCIS or Immigration Court in relation to client, VAWA and U Visa needs Under attorney supervision, prepare USCIS and EOIR forms Perform country condition research as needed Coordinate psychological and physical examinations for clients Assist with coordinating volunteers, interns and interpreters Under supervision of attorney and legal interns, prepare applications The above statement reflects the general duties considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job as identified, and shall not be considered a detailed description of all work requirements that may be inherent in the job.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma One year of experience working with immigration legal field Bilingual (English/Spanish) both written and verbal Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, etc. Ability to define problems, collect data, evaluate information, draw conclusions, and take appropriate action based on this information The employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds Valid Arizona Driver License, proof of insurance and Arizona Motor Vehicle division 39 months Motor Vehicle Report Obtain State of Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS Additional years of directly related experience Associates Degree in one of the three following fields: Court Support Services, Paralegal in Immigration Law, Legal Assistant
