Paratransit - Driver - Seattle, WA
Safely operates Paratransit buses through light to heavy city and freeway traffic in a safe and prudent manner in accordance with Metro, County, State and Federal Laws as well as Company rules and policies.
Ensures the highest quality of bus service is delivered to our customers.
Assists customers in a safe, friendly, courteous, helpful manner.
This includes assisting persons with disabilities onto and off of the wheelchair lift with safety restraints. Operators will act as front-line point of contact to ensure delivery of quality customer service. Complies with all company safety rules and operates assigned vehicle to meet customer standards. Operator complies with all federal, state and local laws pertaining to the operation of buses, traffic and safety.
Safely and efficiently boards, deboards and transports customers from one point to another, using a variety of bus types.
Effectively utilizes mobile data terminal and/or map book to follow routes and meet time points. You must maintain an accurate timepiece.
You must be able to operate all equipment in a safe, efficient, and proper manner, including lift, radio, emergency equipment and hatches. Performs pre-trip inspections and completes DVR in accordance with DOT to ensure bus and equipment is in safe, proper working condition. Coordinates detour, accident, and incident information radio dispatch, and responds to instructions given.
Makes effective independent decisions and handles conflicts based on experience, training and policies in communication with dispatch.
Works a variety of hours, days, and shifts, including Saturdays, Sundays, holidays and split shifts as all three (3) locations.
Bids for work by seniority during company bid.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. You must maintain a valid Washington State Driver license and an excellent driving record.
Must be 21 years of age or older, and maintain current DOT certification at all times. You must satisfactorily complete job-related musculoskeletal screen. Must carry company DOT card and valid
driver license at all times while on duty. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
Must have the ability to quickly gain a thorough knowledge of all routes and fare structures of the Veolia Transportation.
You must be able to operate any assigned vehicle and its equipment, including every type of coach and support vehicles. You must be able to work varied hours, days, and shifts, including holidays, Saturdays, Sundays, and split shifts at all three (3) of our locations
- High School diploma, or GED required. Subject to pre-employment drug testing and random drug testing.
