Applications are being accepted for a part-time Receptionist/ Administrative Support position in the Community Development department, working 20-25 hours weekly in a job share capacity. Desired hours are 8am-5pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and every other Friday. The Administrative Support person acts as the first point of contact for citizens and other customers contacting or visiting City Hall, including answering the main City of Lenexa telephone line and transferring calls accordingly. Responsible for greeting all walk-in customers and directing them to the appropriate offices or meeting rooms; assigns visitor tags and maintains visitor logbook. Assists Community Development staff with various projects relating to licenses and permits.

QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma required with two years clerical and/or administrative experience preferably in a municipal setting OR any combination of equivalent education and experience. Must have excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to handle customers in a courteous and professional manner. Strong multi-tasking and keyboarding skills and working knowledge of MS Office applications including word processing and e-mail are preferred. The successful candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and background investigation. Starting pay is $12.25-14.70 per hour DOQ.
