VisionQuest, a behavioral health organization working with at-risk youth and families is seeking a part-time LPN (24 hrs/week) for their Blue Ridge Academy facility located in Salyorsburg, Pennsylvania. The position provides nursing care to youth with compassion and structure to promote healthy personal growth and development.*Provides youth with routine health care, assist with: administration of medication, treatment planning, infection control (prevention, surveillance and interventions), program improvement activities and wellness education for staff and youth. *Maintains the environment of care by complying with therapeutic standards, risk management policy, and procedures for maintaining client safety.*Accurately applies knowledge of treatment approaches appropriate to the physical and developmental age of youth and understands and applies policies and procedures for infection control.*Attend all required training and in-service courses (CPR, Crisis Intervention, Emergency Procedures, Infection Control, etc.)
Minimum qualifications: Must possess a current Nursing license in the State of Pennsylvania. Knowledge of medical terminology, medications and normal growth and development among children ages 10 - 18. Knowledge of state guidelines/mandates for immunization. Current adult and pediatric CPR certification required, Instructor certification preferred.Current valid driver's licenseEffective communication and interpersonal skills with children, staff, families and outside agencies as necessary to maintain professional and therapeutic relationships. Ability to communicate medical information in both oral and written form in a manner that youth, families and staff can understand.Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical/TB.EOE
