Responsible to the Benefits Manager to assist in functions and projects within the benefits area of the Human Resources department.
Manage the Workers Compensation process:
File claims, serve as liaison between the carrier and the injured employee, maintain vendor relationship
Serve on the Safety Committee and Work with Risk Management in resolving injury-causing conditions
Participate in annual loss history review meeting with carrier and broker
Complete the annual OSHA report detailing injuries for the year
Manage the Colleges unemployment process by filing disputes and working with arbitrators
Process student employment paperwork establishing electronic payroll records and student employment files
Complete and return verifications of employment
Provide support to the Benefits team for annual projects such as preparing Christmas gift checks and Benefits Statements and processing Banner changes.
Assist with scheduling and communications for benefits-related events
Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience with workers compensation and unemployment benefits strongly preferred
Strong analytical, detail, and task orientation with an ability to handle multiple tasks
Excellent interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on providing quality service to all constituents
3+ years office and project experience
Computer literate in MS Office, Excel and Banner
