Under general supervision, position works approximately 16 hours every week, year 'round, Saturday, Sunday and one weekday performing a variety of custodial and maintenance services for the county's Nature Center building and grounds.
Position is approximately 70% custodial and building maintenance and 30% grounds maintenance, including installing and tending native plant landscaping, weed control and snow removal. Work also involves cleaning, repairing and maintaining building, including restrooms, offices and exhibit areas. Employee is responsible for maintaining exhibits and preparing the nature center for special events.
High school graduation or equivalent certificate and minimum one year experience in grounds and building maintenance, general carpentry and knowledge of basic mechanical systems; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Offer of employment contingent on criminal history, MVR check and education verification.
Must have a valid driver's license, if you are from out of state, you must have a valid Colorado driver's license within 30 days of hire date, and you must not have any major violations, nor more than one DUI, DWI, DWAI conviction in the past three years.
Work is performed indoors and outdoors, sometimes in inclement weather; must be able to negotiate a variety of terrain.
