We are looking for graduate level scientists who are comfortable evaluating and translating findings from scientific studies for the everyday consumer. If you always rocked at “Journal Clubs” and want to help make genetics relevant to more people, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities may include:
Evaluating and cataloging genetic associations reported in the primary scientific literature.

Researching and developing new health reports that provide customers with high impact information.

Helping to update and maintain health reports already included in the 23andMe product.

Conducting literature searches and documenting studies that support the clinical validity of 23andMe’s health reports.

Supporting the rest of the health content team in the development of 23andMe health features, based on your particular skill set, for example writing content or applying/writing code.

Has obtained or is working towards an advanced degree in the life sciences.

Familiarity with statistical analysis and research methodologies in the context of critically evaluating scientific findings. Familiarity with genetic association studies a plus.

Experience using public databases, genomic tools, and online scientific resources.

Attention to detail and a willingness to tackle potentially tedious work.

Ability to work productively in a team as well as independently.

Starting: Immediately
Duration: A minimum of 3 months, with option to extend. Transition to full-time a possibility.

This position can be filled either by contractors or individuals seeking part-time employment. If part-time, we require at least 20 hrs/week.

You may be asked to complete a short assignment involving evaluation of a scientific paper as part of the application process.
