The Patient Access Rep. I performs outpatient and inpatient registration functions; provides general information to hospital users, patients and families; ensures that patients meet financial requirements; provides excellent patient focused customer service; and communicates effectively to service delivery areas to maximize patient flow and customer service.
Education, skills, and experience required:
High school graduate or equivalent
Previous experience in hospital admissions, business office, and/or physician's office preferred
Must be able to accurately type 25-30 words per minute and pass a clerical examination
After training, must pass internal examinations to demonstrate mastery of Patient Access Services computer applications
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
Medical terminology preferred
