This is a temporary, full-time position - for approx. 5 months
The Sr. Patient Account Assistant performs billing or follow-up/collections functions aimed at resolving hospital accounts receivable. Assists patients with any and all A/R issues. Provides excellent customer service to patients, physicians, fellow employees and others. Assists in other department areas as needed.
One-year hospital billing or follow-up/collections job experience.
Customer service background, prior hospital billing office experience, A/R outsource agency experience, and specialized terminology of commercial, government, workers compensation and third party payers.
High school degree or equivalent required
Calculator (10-key), use of personal computer (PC) skills
Strong skills using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and the Internet
Strong problem-solving skills
College degree or some college
Medical terminology accounting and/or bookkeeping skills
