This is a Patient Account Representative II position in our Central Billing Office. This position will be primarily in charge of collections.

Under general supervision, this position may participate in any or all aspects of the patient processing and accounts receivable functions of the organization including billing, charge entry, collection, registration, scheduling, follow-up, coding, payment posting and credit balance resolution. May reconcile daily IDX system receivables reports. May balance monthly transactions and provide summaries to faculty and department administration.

Physical Requirements:
Standard administrative office environment and exposure. Up to 20% of this position will require mobility (moving from one room or building to another; traveling to locations in the community; standing for presentations; etc.)

Required Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent AND 18 months paid profressional experience in Medical Billing, Medical Collections, Medical Billing Systems (IDX or other).

PeopleSoft experience desired.

Required Certifications, Registrations, or Licenses:
These requirements may be imposed by federal, state or recognized accrediting agency as a prerequisite of employment

Required Skills and Proficiencies:

Knowledge of insurance plans.
Knowledge of medical billing practices and procedures.
Knowledge of ICD-9 & CPT codes.
Proficient skills applicable to this position.
Must be proficient on all Microsoft Office applications.

Excellent customer service skills and must be able to be sensitive and respectful of our patient's needs.
Must be able to work successfully with a diverse group of faculty, other staff, and members of the public.
Must be able to follow directions and work as part of a team.
Must be able to report to the work location regularly and in a timely manner.
