BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITY : To be responsible for patient accounts: send insurance (electronically as well as by paper), post mail receipts and contractual write-offs and refunds; send statements and manage accounts receivable as outlined in collection policy, record bad debt entries and other adjustments as approved. QUALIFICATIONS : Graduate of a Medical Assistant/ Medical Secretary program with an interest in accounting or previous experience in a medical practice. Ability to record financial entries accurately and legibly. Experience with CPT codes and medical billing preferred. Ability to deal with the public in a positive manner.
