Required: Must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function; satisfactorily demonstrate required competencies in the care of patients, including age-specific competencies; use effective verbal and written communication skills; BCLS
Preferred: Completion of approved PCA training program
Required: High school diploma or equivalent and can demonstrate required competencies.
Preferred: PCA in acute care setting.
Required: None required if normally scheduled to work at least 40 hours per pay period. (If STEP or PTD and normally scheduled to work less than 40 hours per pay period, must have minimum of one year full time experience in acute care hospital.) Staffing Resources Department must have at least one year of recent acute care experience.
Required: Certified by state of Florida as Patient Care Assistant
GENERAL SUMMARY: Demonstrates commitment to the vision, core purpose/mission and goals of LRMC, modeling the values and culture. The Patient Care Assistant delivers care to patients under the direction/delegation of the Registered Nurse or Licensed Nurse assigned by the RN, as needed, and must be able to perform satisfactorily the specific patient care skills as outlined by the facility and the department(s). Must effectively interact with patients, families and other health team members. Must report pertinent information to the RN or Licensed Nurse assigned by the RN, as needed, and respond to requests for information in a timely manner. Assists with tasks to support patient care. Performs other duties as assigned.
