DESCRIPTION

The Patient Care Assistant is responsible for facilitating the completion of the patient care services in multiple areas supporting Providers, Nursing, Medical Assistants and the front desk. The site office manager will direct, assign and manage this position in alignment with operations and medical. This position will assist the site in a variety of important tasks in the front office, including receptionist, medical records, and some work in the back office, etc. The emphasis of this role is to expedite patient flow and related processes. Must be able to work 8 and/or 10 hour shift and some Saturdays.

** Medical Assistant certificate required as a minimum of education

DUTIES

Front Office
  • Greeter/Walk In Assistant
  • Answer phones as directed
  • Assist patients in completing forms needed for registration
  • Eligibility of insurance verification
  • Correspondence (Records, No Shows, daily inter-office mail)
  • Check out (Scheduling Appointments, directions of instructions)
  • CVIIS updates of Medical Record number and demo, work in Medical Recoreds Area
  • Patient Satisfaction Surveys
  • Scanning Front Desk patient forms
  • Back-up receptionist as needed
Back Office
  • Stocking/Cleaning Rooms
  • Ordering Clinic Supplies
  • Stocking Clinic Exam room with supplies
  • Cleaning/Packing/Autoclaving Instruments
  • Assist with Appointments (Referrals) In-house and External
  • Chaperone Provider for exams
  • Translator
  • Room Patients
  • Extra hands for Medical Assistants and Provider
  • Lab Specimens (Pack, Labels)
  • Escort patients to vitals area and/or exam room, lab, x-ray, etc.
  • Scanning documents as directed.
  • Take vitals
  • Set up trays as directed
  • May serve as scribe as directed.
  • Escort Patient to Checkout, to waiting room, Medical Records, WIC, X-Ray, Referrals, etc
  • Contact/expedite connection with language line as directed
Other Responsibilities:
  • Obtain Images/Lab reports
  • Lab follow up for orders - ensure patient compliance and receipt of results
  • Assist with the processing of referrals and related activities as directed
  • Assist Patient Navigator as directed
  • Auditing (Charts, ICS documents, etc)
  • Assist patients with mobility issues
  • May be asked to work at any CSV clinic or location as directed
QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications:
** Medical Assistant certificate required as a minimum of education

1.Solid understanding of Medical Records
2.Proven experience with clinical operations
3.Excellent customer service skills
4.Must be flexible and have ability to adapt and anticipate clinic needs
5.Willingness to take on the responsibilities to assist the medical team in completing forms.
6.Ability to multi-task

7.Bilingual (Spanish-speaking required)
