Description

Assists in maintaining a smooth functioning unit under the direction of Nurse Manager or designee.

Functions as a Patient Care Assistant and/or Patient Care Secretary as needed.

Transcribes physician orders, answers telephone, greets and assists people arriving on unit, assists with admissions and discharges and maintains desk areas.

Provides compassionate care to patients when functioning as PCA.

Qualifications

Education:
Must be able to read, write, and perform simple arithmetic calculations.

High School graduate or GED equivalent required. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

envelope from the school or agency.

Experience:
Work requires tow to three months on-the-job training to acquire necessary familiarity with department policies, procedures and forms.

Licenses/Certificates:
Heartsaver (One Man CPR).
