Job Summary:
Using discretion and judgment, the incumbent executes payroll transactions across multiple business units and assists in accurate and timely processing of the full range of payroll services.

Principal Responsibilities :
Executes financial transactions through research, analysis, understanding tax code and foreign currency in order to properly handle accounting treatment, tax and regulatory requirements and internal controls while utilizing various financial system applications.

Proves excellent customer service by serving as first contact to employees to answer basic questions and directing more complex questions to the appropriate staff member and/or Manager.
Assists in the resolution of general payroll-related inquiries or issues by researching policies and practices, and seeking guidance from the senior staff members.

Assists with processing all new hire information, tax setup, direct deposit, and benefits maintenance.

Responsible for administrative duties such as filing and data entry.

Performs account and system reconciliation in support of the Payroll Operations function. Troubleshoots and resolves discrepancies based on extensive research and analysis of related activity.

Participates in the communication of critical information to Corporate Finance and MFS' business units relating to system updates and procedural changes.

Participates in various cross-functional projects in order to satisfy business requirements and gain operating efficiencies.

Under minimum supervision, compile data for timekeeping records such as hours worked, benefits and tax deductions.

Calculates and reviews deduction calculations to ensure accuracy, and reconcile payroll discrepancies.

Reviews deductions made by outside payroll vendors for accuracy and inform payroll manager of accuracy.

Generates reports for internal use and may interpret data.

Associate's degree, plus two years related business experience or a high school diploma plus four years of related experience.
Good communication and organizational skills.
Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.
Good computer skills.
Ability to work overtime as required.
