Required Qualifications: High School diploma/GED. High School levels of literacy and numeracy. Three years of full time payroll office experience. Excellent computer skills. Strong numeric skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Must be organized and detailed. Strong customer service skills. Ability to effectively interact with the Campus community via telephone, e-mail and in person.
Preferred Qualifications: Familiar with Oracle and PeopleSoft Systems as well as Lotus Notes.
Brief Description of Duties: This position is responsible for interpreting and processing personnel paperwork for specified departments. The incumbent will receive general supervision and provide a targeted research community with support and information in areas such as Appointments, Payroll and Timekeeping for Professional, Classified, Graduate and Undergraduate students and hourly employees.
- Calculate, audit and maintain hourly timesheets. Enter hours into Oracle for payment. Process overtime and accrual checks for payment. Calculate, audit and maintain classified timesheets. Enter time and attendance rosters for Professional employees and Graduate students into PeopleSoft. Administer the Parking Deductions Program for Research Foundation employees.
- Accurately review, code, calculate and input Research Foundation Appointment and Change forms for undergraduate students and hourly employees. Responsibilities include: calculation and computer input of all appointments, terminations, extensions, reactivation, rate changes and advances,
- Prepare Appointment letters to new employees from Director. Prepare professional Time and Attendance Rosters for distribution to employees. Prepare letter to employees for any changes in their payroll. Prepare Roster of checks for Check Distribution. Log-in and distribute mail and all paperwork received for Payroll processing, check IDC accounts for correct signatures. Process W-4 and IT-2104's for changes in tax withholdings. Process direct deposit applications. Perform E-Verification and Form I-9 verification for new Research Foundation employees.
- Effectively communicate with the research community. Perform a variety of administrative support functions, which includes preparing written notices and correspondence, handling telephone inquiries, managing form requests.
Other Duties: As assigned.
Special Notes: This is a full time, temporary position, 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. FLSA Nonexempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.
