Job Title: Payroll Specialist

Supervisor: Rob Hemmen

Salary: DOE

Job Status: Full-Time

POSITION SUMMARY: This position will be responsible for processing weekly payroll, tax deposits, certified payrolls and monthly union reports.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

§ Process weekly payrolls for two companies and up to 850 seasonal employees

§ Prepare and process tax deposits, 401K contributions, and garnishments

§ Generate and submit monthly union reports

§ Create and distribute weekly certified payroll reports

§ Collaborate with field administrators and human resource personnel to ensure accuracy and timeliness of processes

§ Complete periodic information request

§ Maintain payroll files and records

§ Abide by federal and state payroll regulations

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

§ 3+ years of payroll experience preferred

§ Certified Payroll Professional by the American Payroll Association is a plus

§ Experience in Microsoft Dynamics (Great Plains) is a plus

§ Strong problem solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills

§ Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable and able to maintain strict confidentiality of payroll records

§ Possess strong organizational and time management skills

§ Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)

§ Must be able to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally

§ Strong problem solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills

§ Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

§ Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner

VISUAL ACUITY: Must be adequate to perform above listed tasks in a safe manner. Ability to see and complete work on a personal computer and read color coded writing on equipment forms, etc.

LIFTING: Must be able to lift 20 lbs from floor to waist, 20 lbs from waist to shoulder height. Must be able to carry 20 lbs for 20 feet.

Overtime may be necessary at times to meet stringent deadlines.
