Must self-identify as an individual with life experience of being diagnosed with a serious mental illness. Must be well established in recovery and stable. Must be a North Carolina Certified Peer Specialist. Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalency. Must have a valid Driver’s Licenses and be able to travel to provide services in the community.
Provides life experiences with mental illness and mental health services. Provides highly individualized services in the community and promotes individual self-determination and decision making. Assisting individuals with system advocacy and individual advocacy. Providing pre-crisis and post-crisis support, including assisting the individual with a personal crisis plan, Psychiatric Advanced directive (PAD), and/or and Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP). Completes accurate and timely documentation of services provided.
