Position Summary:
Reporting to the Associate Chief, incumbent performs the full range of basic diagnostic radiologic procedures and performs the advanced level diagnostic procedures in Computed Tomography (CT). Responsible for post processing and image management inputting images into the PACS and patient information in to the RIS.

This position is a rotating position.

Salary Range:
Rate Minimum $39.66 Midpoint $39.66 Maximum $39.66

Accurately and appropriately performs quality control on equipment ensuring all appropriate records are kept as required

Accurately interprets data regarding patient status in consideration of patient age

Accurately performs computer data entry to record test results and patient information

Accurately records procedures to ensure correct billing

Adheres to UCIMC radiation safety practice of ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable)

Coordinates patient requirements during diagnostic procedures and/or transportation to ensure patient safety

Effectively assists as directed with intervention CT guided biopsy and/or aspirations

Effectively determines patient needs based on age-specific criteria

Effectively operates specialized equipment

Effectively performs advanced specialty procedures

Effectively performs a variety of specialized CT procedures such as: Arthrograms, Myelograms, and CT Arteriograms, Cerebral, Corotid, Thoracic, and Abdominal, etc. ensuring optimal imaging

Maintains appropriate aseptic and sterile procedures

Performs accurate contrast studies/procedures, ensuring optimal imaging

Positions patients as necessary to ensure accurate testing in consideration of patient age

Prepares equipment and supplies for procedures in an organized and timely manner

Provides appropriate and effective instruction/training

Provides proper protective equipment to patients

Reviews test results with physicians or other care providers in a timely manner

Sets parameters in accordance with established protocols or physician orders

Uses appropriate body mechanics when lifting, positioning and transporting patients and/or equipment

Verifies treatment levels or procedures against established guidelines

Required Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology

Current BLS certification

Must possess advanced specialty certification - Computed Tomography

Venipuncture license/certification or license must be obtained within six months of hire.
