Responsibilities - Weill
The Patient Registrar is responsible for registering, scheduling and obtaining pre-certification and authorization for patients to ensure payment from a third party payer.
A High School diploma or GED is required. Some college is preferred. One year of clerical experience is required. Telephone skills are required. Knowledge of health insurance benefits/requirements is preferred. Knowledge of Coding: ICD 9, CPT-4 preferred. Computer skills required. Keyboard skills required. Customer service experience preferred. Data entry skills of 4500 keystrokes is required. Effective communication skills are required.
This is a per diem position for nights / weekends. There are some holiday coverage requirements.
