The primary role of this position is to work with the team to develop and help implement Product Improvement projects. The incumbent will work with their engineering and support personnel to develop in may manufacturing processes and awareness of emerging technologies, especially in machining and forming. He/she should be familiar with SAP, costing methods, detailed evaluation, and payback analysis.
GTD (geometric tolerance dimensioning) types of features they have worked with and are familiar with, ex. true position, profile, flatness, parallelism, etc. and the tolerance tied to these feature call outs.
Types of material they have experience on, with us being Aerospace we use mostly exotic materials like titanium inconle,15-1-17-4 stainless steel, which would include forgings made from these materials.
Types of machine tools they are familiar with. The latest trend in modern machining is these multi tasking machine tools that can do what 3 or 4 machines use to do in the past, this is the future of manufacturing, machining and reducing cost.
Any experience in outside processing, like heat treating, plating, shot peening, gear cutting, roll threading and any type of assembly work etc. would be a plus.
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with 5 – 8 years machining experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent on-the-job experience in the development of metal forming and machining processes.
