We have limited hours available currently but the capacity to grow to as much employment as an individual would be seeking.Personal Assistants provide service to seniors in their own homes and communities who need assistance with a variety of tasks. Assistance may include light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, transportation, companionship, respite and advice on such things as nutrition, cleanliness and household activities.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Personal Assistants are responsible for ensuring that service is delivered in a caring and respectful manner, in accordance with relevant organization policies and industry standards. Job responsibilities are varied and dependent on the needs of each service recipient but the following are the core job duties.
Provides companionship, friendship/friendly conversation and emotional support.
Helps keep clients in contact with friends, family and the outside world.
Performs meal planning and preparation.
Performs light housekeeping.
Evaluates the program and makes recommendations, as indicated.
Follows the written care plan and adjusts as needed in consult with supervisor.
Observes the client’s functioning and reports to Supervisor.
Completes and maintains records of daily activities, including observations and direct hours of service.
SPECIALIZED JOB SKILLS:
Any combination of the following job responsibilities could be your duties depending on the client needs and your skills in the specific areas.
Talks, listens, shares experiences, plays games/cards, reads to client, etc.
Pays bills, reconciles bank statement, keeps accounts in order.
Assists with plans for visits and outings.
Provides transportation to medical appointments, grocery stores and other errands (can be escorted).
Accompanies clients to recreational and/or social events; plans trips and outings.
Writes or types letters/emails/correspondence; makes calls.
Cues client to take medication.
Organizes and reads mail.
Assists with pet care.
Monitors supplies and resources.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of experience and training that would likely meet the following requirements
Possesses home management skills.
Possesses money management skills.
Effectively works with individuals of diverse backgrounds .
Current driver’s license.
Ability to provide professional communications in a variety of settings that support open, honest communications and inclusion of diversity.
Excellent oral communication skills.
Basic word-processing and data entry computer skills.
Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple and varied tasks;
Ability and willingness to work as an agency team member and support Silverbridge Solutions/Impact NW’s mission, values and goals.
PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bilingual and cross cultural knowledge and skills.
Experience providing direct client services.
CPR and First Aid Certification.
Bill paying experience.
Personal vehicle with proper insurance coverage for transporting clients.
