Provides supervisory, program, technical and administrative support to the Powhatan Human Resource Manager and Powhatan Human Resource Department to further established goals and objectives.

Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated working knowledge of the principles and practices of Human Resources, reporting, and numerical calculations principles; federal, state and Virginia DOC laws/policies/procedures/directives regarding assigned program areas. Demonstrated competency with computer programs including word processing, database and spreadsheets. Demonstrated abilities to effectively plan, develop, execute, monitor, alter, meet deadlines, produce independent results and increase efficiency through innovation. Demonstrated ability to analyze HR statistics and reach sound logical conclusions; coordinate programs; accurate and thorough documentation with constant attention to detail; maintain strict confidentiality. Demonstrated consistent proper display of supervisory professionalism - personifying the DOC and institution's goal and objectives - at all work times in appearance and behavior. High School graduate or equivalent. From work experience, demonstrated history of proficiency in human resources to include personal accountability, problem-solving and documentation, time and leave accountability, health insurance/retirement benefits or closely related responsibilities. From work experience demonstrated history of excellent interpersonal communication skills, including proper English grammar in written, verbal and internet communications. Demonstrated ability with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook and Access; Power Point and Publisher proficiency considered a plus.

Preferred Qualifications
Prefer DOC Recruitment Management System (RMS) experience. Prefer sufficient experience in a complicated human resource or organizational enfironment. Prefer business college degree or college coursework in HR, business administration or related areas.
