Advances the goals and objectives of Powhatan Correctional Center through participation in Human Resources activities. Duties emphasize leave and payroll documentation for security and non-security employees. Provides additional support to human resource programs and operations.
High School graduate with major studies associated with business administration and office experience. Working knowledge of the principles and practices of leave and payroll calculation and reporting, basic accounting and numerical calculations principles, federal and state laws/policies/procedures regarding assigned program areas. Working skill with personal computers and applicable programs including word processing, data base and spreadsheets. Demonstrated abilities to analyze data and reach logical conclusions; interpret personnel policies and procedures; coordinate programs effective written and oral communication skills; work independently; perform mathematical calculations; interview individuals; assimilate numerical or other information; analyze data and research; maintain strict confidentiality.
Prefer progressive responsible experience in a complicated setting in leave and payroll calculations, problem solving and computer support. Prefer two or four-year college degree with office services, human resources, public administration or business emphasis or equivalent experience and education.
