The NSF Academy at the National Science Foundation is accepting applications and resumes for a Personnel Psychologist position with responsibilities in the areas of individual and organizational assessment and individual and organizational development. The major duties of this position include projects and services in areas such as: Individual Assessment including development of selection tools, performance plans, benchmarks and rating guides, 360 degree surveys, competency modeling and competency gap analysis, writing assessments, etc.; Organizational Assessment including development and/or administration and interpretation of culture and climate surveys, conducting focus groups and discussions with individuals; Individual Development including leadership coaching, developing learning maps, creating and conducting courses and workshops for leadership and employee development, etc; and Organizational Development interventions and activities such as facilitating strategic planning, assisting organizations with change implementation, conflict management, team building, etc. You will also be involved in leadership selection processes and programs; coaching and mentoring programs; and providing a comprehensive training curriculum for the agency. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
To qualify at the GS-14 level, you must have at least 1 year of specialized experience in leading the design and implementation of projects involving the application of the models/theories of industrial and organizational psychology. Examples of specialized experience include providing consultation on individual and organizational development and assessment of competencies; designing, implementing and evaluating training and develop programs; leading a team in providing consultative services and project management for organizational interventions and/or development of effective assessment tools for individuals & organizations; and leading competency gap analyses in employee selection, employee and/or management training, organizational development and effectiveness, performance management or conducting statistical analysis, test and measurement in these areas. This experience must have been equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service.
To qualify at any grade level applicants must have successfully completed a 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree that included a major or equivalent in psychology. The ideal candidate would have a degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. In addition, applicants must meet the applicable grade-specific requirements described in the "Qualifications" section above.

Category rating procedures will be used to rank and select eligibles. Based on your responses to the occupational questionnaire, you will be assigned a score. Your score will determine in which of three categories you will be placed: Excellent, Very Good, or Good. Under this process, veterans will be assigned to the appropriate category (without additional preference points) and then placed at the top of their category. Review your resume and responses carefully. Responses that are not fully supported by the information in your application package may result in adjustments to your score. A Human Resources Representative will validate the qualifications of those candidates eligible to be referred to the selecting official.
