Job Description
One intern position is now available in research area: Particle-based method development and implementation in modeling various chemical, material and biological systems. Specifically, the research will focus on implementing new algorithms for various particle-based numerical methods.
The position requires comprehensive expertise in a scientific programming language (Matlab, C, C++, Fortran), and computational mathematics. The position requires considerable knowledge in Numerical Analysis and Parallel Programming with MPI.

The appointment will be in the Computational Sciences and Mathematics (CSM) Division, which has strong programs computational mathematics, scientific computing, and software Development. PNNL is located in southeastern Washington State, offering the advantages of affordable housing, good schools and easy access to many cultural attractions.
Minimum Requirements
Candidates must be currently enrolled/matriculated in a PhD program at an accredited college.

Minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.

All staff at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory must be able to demonstrate the legal right to work in the United States.
The candidate should have experience on particle-based (Lagrangian) numerical algorithms (molecular dynamics, dissipative particle dynamics, smoothed particle hydrodynamics, etc.), good parallel programming skills, and some physics/engineering background.
