BASIC PURPOSE: A Pharmacist FT directs pharmacy technicians, interns and cashiers while on duty in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager. A Pharmacist’s primary responsibility is to ensure the highest level of customer relations and patient care while providing pharmaceutical services as well as accountability for assisting in the development and achievement of sales and profit objectives as established for his/her pharmacy location. Working responsibilities include consulting regularly with the pharmacy manager for the purpose of maximizing sales and controlling expenses. As an employee, the Pharmacist will maintain company loyalty, set a good example and project a healthy positive attitude.

Provide high level customer relations by providing professional and prompt service to pharmacy customers while maintaining accurate, timely and appropriate patient care in the delivery of pharmaceutical dispensing services which include filling prescriptions and provision of patient communication as appropriate.

Provide direction and supervision for pharmacy technician, interns and cashiering staff as requested and/or in the absence of a pharmacy manager.
Work with pharmacy manager to achieve sales, gross profit, expense, labor, and inventory budget. Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory for efficient daily operations and complete required reporting and daily as well as end-of-week administrative paperwork.
Maintain high standards of professional appearance as well as completion of needed daily and ongoing housekeeping, cleanliness and sanitation programs as described for the Pharmacy areas by BI-LO.
Be responsible and aware of all BI-LO communications and employee information. Keep current with new items, changing pharmaceutical law and regulations as well as maintain appropriate CE credentials with consistent participation in continuing pharmacy related and other education programs.
Communicate on a timely basis all items related to the safe and appropriate management of the pharmacy to the Pharmacy Manager and adhere to all pharmacy laws and regulations as well as BI-LO policies and procedures.
Job Requirements :
BS in Pharmacy
Preferred 1-2 years of experience in a retail environment, though none required
Must be familiar with pharmacy laws of the state in which they are a Pharmacy Manager
Good communication skills
