Under the supervision of the Director of Pharmacy, the pharmacist will engage in the practice of pharmacy which includes the interpretation of prescription orders, compounding, packaging, labeling, dispensing, and the coincident distribution of prescription drugs or devices; participation in: 1}The provision of pharmaceutical care, 2} Drug utilization review; ensuring the proper and safe storage of drugs and devices; maintenance of records of drugs and devices. 3} The provision of information on drugs or devises and other duties as assigned.
Involves general guidance and direction by the Director of Pharmacy, Senior or Clinical Pharmacist. The pharmacist is expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
This position requires knowledge of growth and developmental needs of patients and families. Personnel in this position must recognize and respond to the behaviors of patients and families in each age category. They must also be able to demonstrate the special skills required to care for patients and their families from birth to death according to standards. (The skills and knowledge needed to provide such care may be gained through education, training, or experience.)
Current Texas Pharmacist Licenses
Graduation from an accredited college of pharmacy and be eligible for pharmacy licensure.
Hospital experience preferred.
Familiarity with computer systems. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
