The Pharmacy Technician plays a major role in the process of completing and addressing prescription renewal requests and issues, received via telephone, electronically and fax. He/she also is also responsible to makes sure that any in-house pharmaceutical samples are properly stocked and managed. He/she is expected to maintain a high degree of professional competence in the highest possible ethical standards, ensuring patient confidentiality while functioning as part of a care-giving team. The Pharmacy Technician operates adjunctive to Callen-Lorde’s policies & procedures, and under the supervision of the Nursing Department Operations Supervisor.
The Health Center is open Monday through Saturday. Salary will depend on experience and will be accompanied by an excellent benefits package, including individual medical and dental insurance, life insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, generous vacation/leave time, and optional 401K/403B plan.
Pharmacy Technician certification and experience, including up-to-date knowledge of current regulations
Strong computer competency and communication skills are a must
Ability to work within team-based structure, in a high-paced environment
Time management skills in order to any and all address Patient needs and issues
Experience serving Callen-Lorde’s target populations preferred
Commitment to the mission of Callen-Lorde
Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
