Our History: Founded in 1985 with three associates, WellCare grew to more than 800 associates and 467,000 members in Florida, New York and Connecticut by 2002. By 2006, WellCare served 2.2 million members as it became a national prescription drug plan provider and the largest Medicaid plan in Georgia. Provide support to pharmacists in the Pharmacy Quality Department in improving overall plan and beneficiary quality. This includes assisting with: prescriber and member mailings, communication with network pharmacies, prescribers, and beneficiaries, and preperation for quarterly quality meetings.
REPORTS TO: Manager, Formulary Pharmacy
HOURS: 8am - 5pm, Monday - Friday
Support execution of monthly prescriber mailings. This includes maintaining letter templates, coordinating data analysis with the Pharmacy Analytics department, merging and mailing of final letters.
Assist with the maintenance of policies and procedures, training materials, workflow/step action plans, and standard operating procedures.
Support the Pharmacy Quality Manager on a wide array of adhoc tasks relating to the department.
Track and maintain physician and member responses regarding Pharmacy Quality outreach campaigns.
Help prepare slides and graphs for presentation at quarterly Pharmacy Quality meetings.
Communicate with network pharmacies, prescribers, and beneficiaries regarding Quality issues, and escalate to the pharmacist as needed.
High School graduate or GED required.
Certified or Registered Pharmacy Technician preferred.
2+ years’ experience in pharmacy operations managed care, hospitals and/or retail environments.
Certified or Registered Pharmacy Technician preferred with working knowledge of prescription medications and Pharmacotherapy.
Special Skills (e.g. 2
Basic oral and written communication skills
Ability to use pharmaceutical references.
Ability to evaluate information from both oral and written sources, pharmaceutical references and report information to pharmacists.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point.
Capable of learning to use Sidewinder, Crystal and PBM Data bases
