Job Summary: Collects blood specimens for the clinical laboratories. Functions as an intermediary between the patient, patient caregivers and the laboratories. Assures proper specimen collection and identification in compliance with section policies and procedures. Performs appropriate patient procedures in accordance with age-specific guidelines for the age groups served.
Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
Experience: 1-year basic work experience. 1 year phlebotomy experience preferred.
Licensure and Certification: NA
Skills & Qualifications: Ability to listen and communicate effectively. Basic computer skills. Exceptional customer service skills.
Special Characteristics: Ability to work cooperatively. May require working any shift in a 24-hour period, 7 days/week including holidays and possibly taking call.
