Job Summary:
Under general supervision, renders professional rehabilitative services in cooperation with the medical staff and in accordance with objectives, philosophies, and policies of Rehabilitation Services and Winter Haven Hospital. Provides physical therapy treatments, including treatments specific to wound care, under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist. Works within the Acute Therapies areas but may float to other Rehab Services programs as needed.

Knowledge & Skills Required:
Knowledge of Physical Therapy treatments and modalities

Education & Experience Required:
Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration Required:
Current BLS/Healthcare Provider or obtained within 90 days in position
Current CPM or obtained within 90 days in position
Licensed by the State of Florida as an Physical Therapy Assistant

Physical Demands for Essential Functions of the Job:
Ability to bend, squat, stoop, kneel and/or ascend and descend stairs utilizing proper body mechanics for up to 50 percent of work time
Ability to frequently lift, move, push and/or pull objects weighing up to 25 pounds maximum with the ability to occasionally lift, push, and/or pull objects up to 50 pounds maximum and push and/or pull 200 pounds with assistance as needed
Ability to reach by extending the arms and hands in any direction as well as hold, seize, turn hands, pick or pinch with the fingers and perceive size, shape, temperature or texture of objects and material through touch
Ability to stand and walk for up to 80 percent of the work day
Ability to wear respirator in exposure situations and according to department specific protocols
