Colony Specialty (a member of Argo Group) is looking for an experienced Physical Damage Specialist for our Denver, CO location to perform desk reviews on repair and total loss estimates and maximize salvage recovery while ensuring compliance.


Responsibilities include:
Perform desk reviews on physical damage repair estimates and collaborate with adjusters on total loss evaluations .
Conduct research utilizing a variety of sources, including ISO, Auto Data Direct, Copart, independent adjusters, and repairable data from estimatics vendor.
Advise adjusters on salvage requirements, receipt of required documents and executed hold back payments.
Oversee the recovery process through coordination with a variety of external customers, such as lien holders, storage/tow facilities, DMVs, police departments, power of attorneys, and titling authorities.
Authorize and approve all bids on sale of salvage vehicles.
Serve as point of contact with Copart, recovery vendors, and a national network of independent appraisers.
Interpret state specific salvage requirements to ensure reporting compliance.
Maintain salvage related logs and claims managements systems.
Comply with reporting requirements for NICB, DOJ, and first party loss files to underwriting.


Qualifications are:
  • 3 – 5 years minimum of auto appraisal experience; auto appraisal certification desired.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Detail-oriented with initiative and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in the use of computer programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
