Physical Therapist – LTC –
  • Therapy (Father Baker Manor): To plan, organize, and direct the Physical Therapy Department in accordance with current applicable Federal, State and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and assure that the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times.

    REPORTS TO: Director of Rehab Services

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Rehab Aides, Volunteers

    SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS (MINIMUM):

    EDUCATION:
    ·
    Must be a graduate from a accredited PT school with a BS in Physical Therapy
    ·
    Must possess a valid New York State license and registration to practice as a Physical Therapist
    EXPERIENCE:
    ·
    Long Term Care experience preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:
    ·
    Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language
    ·
    Must have knowledge of Physical Therapy procedures
    · Communication skills which may be inclusive of approach, tone of voice, speed of communication, respectfulness and non verbal communication
    · Physical assessment – Application of the assessment into the aging process; examples may include height/weight, skin integrity, ADL's, bowel and bladder control
    · Technical skills – incorporates knowledge of age related physical and mental changes in performing technical skills; examples may include appropriate site for IM injection, range of motion and feeding skills

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    Must be able to lift, carry, reach push/pull and perform all other physical therapy activities to carry out resident treatment
