Delivers medically prescribed Physical Therapy in support of medical care as directed by the primary physician. Works with patients of all ages, race, creed, gender, and disability without bias or prejudice. Utilizes the evaluation of the patient's rehabilitative needs to plan the care, implement and document effective, appropriate and safe Physical Therapy treatments. Acts as a member of the interdisciplinary team in helping the patients and their families achieve the highest level of functioning. Supervises and instructs Physical Therapist Assistants and Rehab Techs/Aides/Restorative Techs in regards to Physical Therapy Services. Participates in planning and implementing new services, staff development programs, and marketing efforts. Performs all job duties and tasks in accordance with national and state professional governing guidelines and state practice act, rules, and code of ethics.
Each patient is assessed by appropriate disciplines beginning at the time the patient enters a hospital service and progressing through discharge. The patient's relevant physical, psychological and social status will be assessed. The person in this position is responsible for consideration of developmental issues of patients in each of the following age groups identified:
· Infancy Birth to 1 year
· Toddlers Age 1 to 3
· Preschool Age 3 to Age 5
· School Child Age 5 to Age 12
· Adolescent Age 12 to Age 18
· Young Adult Age 18 to Age 44
· Middle Age Age 45 to Age 65
· Older Adult Age 65 and Over
A. Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
B. Minimum of one year of experience preferred.
C. Licensed as a Physical Therapist in the State of Texas.
D. Current CPR certification.
