Teaching graduate courses in the Physical Therapy program. The position also requires scholarly activity, student advising and research mentoring, as well as service within the university/community/profession. Assistance with coordination of clinical education experiences may be a portion of this position.
Department/Division: The Physical Therapy Department offers a three-year Doctor of Physical Therapy degree within the College of Health Professions. This dynamic program is housed in a state of the art facility with access to lab space with motion analysis, balance, ergonomics, biomechanics, and motor performance instrumentation. We are located in the rapidly expanding health care corridor of Grand Rapids, MI. Opportunities exist for collaboration with faculty from other programs within the University, as well as health professionals from community institutions, including the Spectrum Hospital system, Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital's Motion Analysis Laboratory, and the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. Required Qualifications and Education
The ideal candidate for this position will hold a terminal degree (e.g., PhD, EdD, DSc), provide evidence of scholarly activity and have teaching experience. The application is enhanced by the ability to provide instruction in musculoskeletal, integumentary or health and wellness content. The program will consider those who hold a Master's degree or DPT, as well as advanced clinical certification (e.g., ABPTS) and five or more years of practice experience, if the applicant is willing to pursue a terminal degree. Current physical therapy licensure, or eligibility for licensure, in Michigan is required. We are seeking candidates who value collaboration and diversity of people and ideas.
Preferred Qualifications and Education
Evidence of teaching experiences, scholarly activity, and mentoring graduate student research is also desirable.
