Assists in the delivery of medically prescribed Physical Therapy in support of medical care as directed by the primary physician and established by the Physical Therapist. Utilizes the written and otherwise communicated plan of care to deliver Physical Therapy services. Works with patients of all ages, race, creed, gender, and disability without bias or prejudice. Acts as a member of the interdisciplinary team in helping the patients and their families achieve the highest level of functioning. Supervises and instructs Rehab Techs/Aides/Restorative Techs in regards to Physical Therapy Services. Performs all job duties and tasks in accordance with national and state professional governing guidelines and state practice act, rules, and code of ethics.
Each patient is assessed by appropriate disciplines beginning at the time the patient enters a hospital service and progressing through discharge. The patient's relevant physical, psychological and social status will be assessed.
A. Associate degree from a Physical Therapist Assistant program that has been accredited by the American
Physical Therapy Association.
B. Minimum of one year of experience preferred.
C. Licensed as an Physical Therapist Assistant in the State of Texas.
D. Current CPR certification.
