Albany is one hour by car from the Catskill, Adirondack, Berkshire, and Green Mountains and three hours from Montreal, Boston and New York City. The Finger Lakes and the St. Lawrence Seaway can be reached in a half-day.

DUTIES: The Stratton VA Medical Center, Albany, NY, an affiliate of Albany Medical College, is seeking a nephrologist. This individual will attend outpatient clinics, provide inpatient consultation and followup, supervise the care of dialysis patients, and teach students and residents. Research will be encouraged. Full participation in the academic activities of the nephrology division at Albany Medical College is expected.Candidates for this position must be board certified in internal medicine and board certified or eligible in nephrology. Evidence of previous scholarly activity is desirable.

Required Skills:
  • U.S. citizenship or have proper authorization to work in the United States;
  • Possess and maintain a full, unrestricted license to practice medicine from any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or in the District of Columbia;
  • Board Certified in Internal Medicine;
Board Certified/Eligible in Nephrology;

  • Be proficient in written and spoken English as required by 38 USC 7402(d) and 7405(f)
  • Have a degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
