Manages the pick-up and delivery of day -to-day station operations including but not limited to P&D quality, service, and administration through adherence to provisions in the Independent Contractor Operating Agreements / Independent Service Provider (ISP) Agreements and company policies and procedures.
Interacts daily with contractors/ISPs and temporary drivers about day to day operations.
Ensures all data collection, data review and activities/reports are completed accurately and timely.
Assists in implementation of contractor/ISP dictated daily load plans.
Ensures all applicable status codes are applied to all packages.
Ensures that all contractor packages are dispatched and ISP packages are left for delivery daily. Any packages not dispatched or left out for delivery will be scanned with an appropriate waiting package code.
Investigates, resolves or escalates customer service issues, as appropriate.
Ensures adequate P&D supplies are available for effective P&D operations.
Manages temporary and/or company –owned assets (i.e. company -owned vehicles, scanners etc).
Responsible for performance and monitoring the BCSA for P&D functional area. Assists process owners with the development and implementation of Corrective Acton Plans if any discrepancies or violations are found.
Takes customer service calls as needed and follow up on customer messages, complaints and compliments.
Assists P&D Manager in conducting van maintenance checks, to ensure vehicles are in compliance with department of Transportation (DOT) Requirements and FedEx Brand imaging standards.
Assists in tracking data entry errors and follows up with administrative staff and contractors/ISPs to eliminate errors at check in/data review.
Assists in the development and execution of plans to reduce contractor/ISP turnover. Assists in building files, including but not limited to Unit History files, contractor, driver, ISP, non-driver, temp and entity files. Participates in holding contractor/ISP forums in accordance with Managing Director predetermined schedule.
Ensures that station local inbound, on-time service and overnight service is at district and station goal.
High School Degreed Required, Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Transportation or related discipline preferred.
Previous experience in a Package Handler, Load Coach or Work Area Lead position preferred. Experience in a dock setting with previous management experience preferred.
