R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company is seeking a Pilot Plant Technician III. The candidate is responsible for the assembly and modification of equipment, systems and prototypes per drawings and instructions. Accountabilities also include the testing of prototypes per established test criteria, troubleshooting electronics at the component level, determining root cause and performing repairs to return unit(s) to operational state. The candidate must possess appropriate skill sets to operate oscilloscopes, generators, meters, power supplies, service monitors and test equipment.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Candidate must be able to manage and execute multiple projects and provide technical support. The Pilot Plant Technician III is responsible for installation, troubleshooting and repairing of mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment, prototypes, and systems. Responsibililties include production, prototyping, engineering setups and installations, testing, and repair.
Qualified candidates will possess strong troubleshooting (to component level) and problem solving skills, strong analog, mechanical, and digital skills, with experience using an oscilloscope, and hand tools. Excellent soldering skills are a must.
Excellent working knowledge of production technology and equipment (electrical).

Detailed understanding of documentation methods and procedures.
KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE
Understanding of production processes and operations
Understanding of production equipment and configurations.
Experience and proficiency using computer software (Microsoft Office).
Ability to understand product design and the inter-relationships of components.
High School diploma or equivalent required
Technical degree/certification in appropriate field (i.e. Electrical)
