Job Family Summary

Materials Management is responsible for the management of material inventory levels to ensure that raw material components and manufactured products are available when needed to satisfy the plant and customer requirements. Responsibilities include the planning and procurement of material components to minimize obsolescence and overstock situations while achieving maximum customer service levels.

What is expected of you for success in your role:
Support Product Focus Teams, Manufacturing Ops, Engineering and Quality projects with supply chain expertise

Cost Tradeoff Analysis- help Engineering/Ops understand the impact of cost on their projects
Strategic analysis of critical EOL run-out (timing, cost exposure, status)
Cost Savings Tracking
Mining ideas from business data such as spend and make project recommendations (savings, quality and risk mitigation projects).
Strategic Inventory analysis and recommendations
Provide supplier recommendations in alignment with business strategic direction.

Supplier Management

Coordinate regular meetings with key suppliers to review key materials issues, forecast information (when available), and insure supply chain continuity
Identify and drive supply chain improvements with key suppliers
Evaluate and monitor supplier spend and PPV (direct and sub tier suppliers)
Actively participate in Supplier Quality CIT's and provide expertise on supply chain related decisions
Own Operations component of supplier scorecard
Manufacturing Operations Support

Strategic analysis of spikes or ongoing demand increases/decreases
Evaluate and monitor supplier's capacity to meet CFN requirements (direct and sub tier suppliers)

Manage R&D transition of new products into stable operations

Identify and anticipate supply chain challenges during the development of the supplier base for new product
Drive regular meetings to review part transfer status

Inventory Management

Application of best practice techniques, statistical modeling, and forecasting to maintain inventories at optimal levels
Use and develop SAP reports to analyze inventory positions that lead to actionable recommendations
Develop and implement safety stock and bin sizing models to minimize inventory while maximizing customer service levels
Lead E&O inventory analysis, recommend depletion strategy and coordinate the proper execution with SR BUYER or BUYER.

Identify, Initiate and complete continuous improvement projects within the Purchasing Department

Apply process mapping and other problem-solving tools to understand current business processes, identify non-value added activities, eliminate or modify non-value added activities, and develop improved processes

Other tasks as assigned:
ECO collaboration (Engineering Change Orders)
QN collaboration (Quality Notifications)
Purchase Order management (for new and existing materials)
Evaluate and monitor supplier spend and PPV (direct and sub tier suppliers)
Inventory Management and Manufacturing Ops Support
Part Shortage follow up and resolution
Deliver and follow up on Supplier Corrective Actions
Perform EOL/LTB analysis
Resolution of Receiving and Receiving Inspection issues
Resolution of AP issues
Perform Tech Reviews
SCN Process follow up
RFQ's for new and/or existing materials
MMR/MCN process
Data mining and analysis as required to support product line
Participate in Materials Continuous Improvement Teams
EKanban system maintenance

Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field required
5 years experience in supply chain field
Intermediate to advanced understanding of statistics
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated leadership, people skills and high ethical standards
Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in business or supply chain
Lean Six Sigma experience and or certification
Supply chain certification – APICS, ISM, other
Experience with Minitab or similar statistical package
Working knowledge of S&OP process
Intermediate to advanced level user of SAP with the ability to use the SAP business warehouse
Knowledge of economic & market princicples: ability to understand the major factors of production, distribution and consumption that influence business activity and their impact on supply chain strategies
