Greater Lynn Senior Services provides a wide range of social services for elders and people with disabilities -- information, transportation, meals, advocacy, homecare, housing, and more--for one reason: to help those 60 and older in Lynn, Lynnfield, Nahant, Saugus and Swampscott live fuller, more independent lives, safely and with dignity.
Reporting to the Director of Planning and Development, the Planning/Research Specialist will support the responsibilities of the Greater Lynn Senior Service's Planning and Development Department in the areas of program evaluation, needs assessment, grant writing, report writing, research, and cultivating relationships with agency partners. Specific projects will include: conducting topical and policy research and performing literature reviews in relevant fields including: aging, disabilities, and livable communities; keeping abreast of developments and funding opportunities; collecting, maintaining, and interpreting demographic data; and conducting outcomes-based program evaluations of agency programs. The Planning/Research Specialist will also support agency efforts including strategic planning and outcomes evaluation. Other critical priorities include: assisting with preparation of grant and other funding proposals; identifying evidence-based practices and other theoretical bases for new programs; generating reports; and maintaining Department records and resources.
MA in social sciences, planning, or related area. Applied research experience a must. Skills required include: quantitative and qualitative research, writing, communications and team building. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required. Database management including SPSS and/or STATA and ACCESS preferred.
Full Time, 40 hours per week.
