A Planning Director is the strategic leader on a specific business. As the strategic leader they will be responsible for partnering with other leaders on the account to guide our most senior clients to bold and innovative solutions. In this role we expect a proven (7-10+ years of success at leading industry leading or innovative strategies. They will be expected to demonstrate the highest standard of business and audience analysis that will lead to business growing solutions. They will also be expected to have a history of translating these discoveries into inspiring briefs and roadmaps for the brand. They will also be expected to work with creative, production and account partners to sell these innovative strategies to client and to industry leading creative work.
At R/GA the Planning director has to have a proven ability to work independently to grow a brand or business. Although they will report into a GPD they will be accountable for their specific brand or business and as such will require strong management and leadership skills. They should be able to demonstrate the ability to lead clients to difficult or new strategic areas and crafting strong strategic arguments support for their recommendations. They should be able to show strong management with a multi-disciplinary team and with younger planners.
A planning director should have solid craft skills in all core areas of planning from research and insights, business strategy, media and connections, analytics, cultural trends digital and social strategies.
