Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Controller is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting and controllership relating to our operations in Pennsylvania. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, payroll, year end audit preparation and the support of budget, strategic plan and forecast activities. The Controller will have contact with senior-level positions which requires strong interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Reporting

·

Lead the month end reporting process to meet Management requirements and deadlines for the Pennsylvania location.

Implement and continuously improve month-end reporting processes that insure accurate reporting and identification of opportunity.

·

Establish and improve weekly reporting on consolidated orders and shipments for timeliness and accuracy.

·

Assist in the preparation of the annual strategic plan

and profit plan

Controllership and Compliance

·

Assist in the consolidation and adjustment of Subsidiary information in order to prepare accurate internal and external reporting packages in compliance with US GAAP.

·

Implement and continuously improve internal controls that insure accurate reporting and proper safeguarding of company assets.

Active participation in annual S-OX testing.

Coordinate and review the reconciliations for all

US

general ledger balance sheet accounts on a timely basis.

·

Oversee AR and AP functions including all supplier accounts and provide leadership to improve working capital turns

Business Partner

·

Develop procedures and processes with department leaders reduce inefficiencies, control investments, and expand margins

·

Assist Sales and marketing functions to grow sales and identify risks or opportunities

·

Lead initiatives and verify plans to improve working capital turns through the reduction of receivables and inventory, while increasing payables.

Leadership and Organizational Development

·

Work with each direct report to establish goals/objectives for each year and monitor/advise on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff.

·

Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
·

5 to 10 years of accounting experience (Public Accountancy experience desirable)

·

Manufacturing experience a plus

·

BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting (MBA and CPA preferred)

QUALIFICATIONS:
·

Strong PC and ERP systems application experience (e.g. QAD, Excel, Word)

·

Proven team leader

·

Superior verbal and written communication skills

·

Experience reviewing, consolidating and reporting the financial results of a global company

·

Use of financial reporting tools such as Hyperion and Microsoft Excel to improve productivity in providing timely and accurate financial statements
