We are currently assisting our client, a Fortune 500 Food Products Company, located near Chicago, IL, with a Plant Manager search. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading activities of the facility to obtain optimum results in quality, service, safety productivity/profits and employee relations. The Plant Manager is responsible for the management of people, equipment and materials to achieve both daily and long-term production objectives.

Responsibilities:
  • Manages product production flow, safety, quality, inventory and logistics to meet the company core value requirements
  • Ensure site compliance with all EHS regulatory and corporate requirements
  • Reviews production and operating reports and directs the resolution of operational, manufacturing and maintenance problems to insure minimum cost, prevent operational delays and take advantage of opportunities
  • Ensures all established cost, quality, and delivery commitments are met
  • Coordinates activities with all functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources and equipment
  • Addresses and participates in the effective resolution of customer requests/issues
  • Prepares and manages budget/capital equipment plan for plant operations
  • Uses LEAN tools to provide overall leadership and guidance to resolve quality or process issues and ensures the integrity of work produced within the facility
  • Prepares and presents communications to associates, management team and/or customers regarding productivity, quality, safety, housekeeping and other key measures
  • Enhances positive employee relations through coaching, performance management and effective communications
  • Fosters collaborative (teamwork) relationships within and across department and business units
  • Develops innovative strategies to provide new and more effective ways of doing things, while achieving the organization’s goals
  • Assures facility compliance with all local, state, federal laws and regulations and company policy
Requirements:
  • BS - Engineering in a relevant discipline is required; MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in a food manufacturing environment is required; with at least 3-4 years in a plant manager role
Compensation:
  • 160,000 – 185,000
