Job Description Summary
Oldcastle’s Precast division is looking for a dynamic, forward-thinking Plant Manager to apply and drive operational excellence efforts at a new facility in Madera, CA. Oldcastle has acquired licensing rights to manufacture and distribute a new product line and this individual will help strategically lead integration initiatives into the Oldcastle family.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Manages Manufacturing Manager, Quality Manager, Human Resources Manager, Inventory Control Specialist, Office Administrator, Project Engineer and Traffic/Shipping Receiving Supervisor.
Responsible for making recommendations on productivity improvement, quality and waste reduction
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
Carries out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring decisions, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Minimum of 4 years management experience within production, equipment, maintenance and or/quality control. Previous precast experience is not required.
Knowledge and experience in implementing process improvement, lean/six sigma manufacturing philosophies.
Established management experience on large projects in the construction industry strongly preferred.
Ability to influence and communicate well with all levels of the organization, including senior leadership
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
