This position is directly responsible to carry out and meet corporate production goals. Responsible for profit and loss of plant. Must insure plant is functioning at highest level of efficiency and enthusiastically motivate plant personnel to achieve these goals.
Oversee superintendents, various middle management positions, multiple line supervisors, and all hourly/production employees
Assume the leadership role in implementing and practicing plant safety procedures
Constantly reduce operating costs and improve customer service
Promote a framework of staff development to ensure future human asset growth
Analyze, interpret, and implement corporate objectives and directives
Accountable for the safety of all employees by enforcing established safety and health policies. Contributing to promoting employee safety and well-being and minimizing accidents and employee lost time
Accountable for quality of products and services, and operational performance as it pertains to cost control, customer service, inventory management and capital assets
Responsible for proper alignment of resources (personnel, equipment, facilities) to company objectives and customer needs
Demonstrated ability to drive continuous productivity improvement in manufacturing operations
Leads, manages and develops managers and employees to assure the necessary capabilities and culture are in place to maintain effective operations. This includes establishing direction, gaining commitment, delegating, and building organizational capabilities
Focus on continuing to improve the competitiveness of the operations by continuous improvement of our people, business processes, and technologies

  • Bachelor’s Degree
    10+ years required with a success profile in a manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Plant Manager or equivalent managerial responsibility
  • Evidence of strong leadership skills and motivational abilities
  • Demonstrated solid financial and business acumen
  • Demonstrated success in growing plant operations while showing reduction in cost
  • Success with quantifiable productivity activities
  • Experience in process improvement methodologies
  • Proven knowledge and capabilities in plant financial systems / processes
  • Demonstrated ability with plant budgets and meeting financial commitments
  • Experience in leading salaried and hourly workforce
  • Experience with environmental permitting, regulatory agencies and plant safety programs
  • Maintaining union-free environment
  • Experience in managing capital programs
  • Technical hands-on background
  • Strong written and oral capabilities
  • Must be able to cultivate a strong rapport with all plant personnel as well as corporate executives and promote a team approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
Additional consideration given for:
  • SAP experience
  • Supply chain experience
  • Preference for science or engineering degree
  • Experience in lean and/or continuous improvement discipline
  • Experience in implementing and maintaining quality programs
