Under the direction of the Manager, this position is responsible for ensuring retention of existing merchant accounts by providing continuous service assistance and if necessary visiting merchants to determine additional merchant service needs. If applicable or appropriate, assists in business unit’s compliance with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures, including but not limited to those related to Anti-Money Laundering laws and regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act. In addition, this position is responsible for demonstrating the Excellence in Sales/Service (ESS) philosophy by participating in and practicing ESS disciplines and behaviors
Manages Customer Needs
Daily telephone support answering inquiries and provides support to customers and branches with solving problems, managing complaints and dispensing product information. Possesses a working knowledge of the processes and procedures of the various Electronic Data Capture networks and First Data Merchant Services (FDMS) processing platform.
Assists Department with Daily Processing
Provides daily support to the Service Team. Prepares/validates/verifies merchant setup and changes, updates spreadsheets, run reports and assist in filing. Prepares necessary paperwork for terminal setup and billing if applicable.
Provides Training and Maintenance
Prepares/tests/installs EDC equipment and trains merchant on the usage and operations. Trains merchants on the Operating Procedures in accepting and processing Visa, MasterCard, and Discover suite of cards. Maintains industry knowledge as it relates to Card Association’s compliance, interchange, pricing and products.
Enhances Merchant Services
Cross-sells Draft Capture service or terminal application/hardware enhancements to existing merchants. Possesses a working knowledge of the credit policy.
Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned.
The qualified applicant for the
POS Services Representative
position meets the following basic qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D.
Experience: 1-2 Years of experience, banking or financial industry preferred.
Technical Skills: PC skills (Windows, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), electronic draft capture terminal and printer, standard office equipment preferred.
Must be able to provide own transportation and ability to commute and arrive at intended destination in a timely manner and/or as required, or ability to operate a vehicle with a valid driver’s license.
Travels by air as required.
Demonstrated clear verbal communications, telephone and customer service skills.
