Under the direction of the Parks and Recreation Department, this position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the pool. This is a full-time seasonal position, generally for the spring and summer months only.

Essential Job Functions:

Responsible for successfully operating the pool facility and scheduling and supervising assigned staff. Maintains all health and safety standards; maintains revenue and related accounts; and, trains aquatics staff. Provides assistance to patrons to achieve a positive pool experience.

Education and Experience:

Must be at least age 18. Minimum of one year of supervisory experience and two years lifeguard experience, with previous pool management experience preferred.

Must have a valid Class C Texas driver’s license with a good driving record and ability to maintain while employed.

Requires valid American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and AED certifications or equivalent through the swim season. ARC Water Safety Instructor and ARC Lifeguard Instructor preferred. Pool Operator or Aquatic Facility Operator Certification desired or must be obtained prior to pool opening.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to effectively communicate with staff and patrons. Ability to successfully complete all pre-employment tests and background checks.

May be required to work evenings and weekends.
