The Services Management Department at the IBM T. J. Watson Research Center is seeking Ph.D. recipients for the position of Post Doctoral Researcher in the field of Services Research. The successful candidate will conduct research in the analysis, design, automation and optimization of systems and processes typically involved in managing enterprise data centers and cloud environments. More specifically, the candidate will explore innovative methods and tooling to help migrate legacy enterprise IT environments into Cloud with minimal disruption and cost. The candidate will also explore the use of large-scale system analytic to fundamentally transform existing IT services from a human-centric model into a knowledge-driven model. The research performed should contribute to both the advancement of the field of Service Science as well as to the success of IBM's services businesses. Good communication and teamwork skills are essential to successfully communicate a vision and then bring about a full cycle of innovation to delivery. A demonstrated record of implementation, publication, and teamwork is required.
- Bachelor's Degree
- At least 1 year experience in Virtualization
- English: Intermediate
- Doctorate Degree in Information Technology
- At least 1 year experience in Data analysis
- At least 6 months experience in Perl programming
- At least 1 year experience in Java programming
- At least 1 year experience in Distributed systems
- At least 1 year experience in Data center management
